A Monthly correspondence from my studio.
Txiki Mail grew out of a desire to let people a little further into my studio practice. My work has become smaller over the past few years: collages, linocuts, cyanotypes, prints, and other things I can make slowly and pick up and put down. I’ve come to love working this way, but much of it exists outside the larger bodies of work I typically share.
Each month, I’ll send two small works from whatever I’m making or thinking about in the studio. They might be hand-printed, photographic, reproduced from a collage, or something I haven’t tried yet.
You’ll also receive a Game, a simple studio prompt for making, looking, cutting, arranging, drawing, or getting unstuck. I started thinking of prompts as games after taking a collage workshop where they were called exactly that. I like what happens when making is approached with a little less seriousness.
I think of Txiki Mail as part correspondence and part small-scale patronage. Your subscription supports the ongoing work of my studio, and in return, I get to send a little of what is happening here out into the world.
